Hospitals and insurance companies may push you — but you have rights

During medical emergencies, relatives don’t have time for arguments with hospital billing desk or insurance TPA.
Unfortunately, that is exactly when hospitals pressure families to pay cash instead of using insurance.

Hospitals reject cashless mostly due to:

  • “Room rent mismatch”

  • “Pre-existing condition”

  • “Waiting period”

  • “Documentation pending”

  • “Irrelevant exclusions”

But many of these are excuses, not genuine reasons.

For cashless approval:

  • Share policy and treatment details immediately

  • Provide correct medical history honestly

  • Keep doctor’s prescription and diagnosis handy

  • Ask TPA to give rejection reasons in writing

  • Never pay full amount unless absolutely required

If cashless is wrongfully denied, you can still claim reimbursement with bills later — and if rejected again, you can take legal action.

Medical emergencies are already stressful — insurance should support, not burden you.
And the law ensures you receive your full eligible treatment coverage.
